Eliminate Inflammation by Soaking Grains!
Welcome to my kitchen! We talk about grains and the phytic acid in them, which causes inflammation of the gut and doesn't allow eczema to heal. I will show you how to soak oats for making Oatmeal Raisin cookies. Oats have the highest amount of mineral-blocking phytic acid, so it is important to soak them especially. If you are feeding your baby any type of grain, be sure to soak them beforehand (12 hrs minimum and up to 24 hrs) for optimum nutrition and vitality.
Recipe: 2 cups Rolled Oats 1 cup whole wheat flour 2 TB Apple Cider Vinegar or Yogurt 3/4 cup Butter or Coconut Oil, melted 1 Extra-Large Egg or 2 Medium Eggs 1/2 cup Brown Sugar or Coconut Sugar 1/2 tsp Salt 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Baking Soda 1/2 cup (packed) Raisins or more if desired
Soak flour, oats, butter & vinegar for 8-12 hrs. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Wisk together the egg, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda in a small bowl. Add the egg mixture to the bowl of soaked flour/oats. Stir until thoroughly combined. Fold in raisins. Scoop dough onto oiled baking sheet in 1TB sized mounds and place in the oven. After 5 minutes, flatten with a spoon. Bake 5 minutes more until firm and golden-brown.
