Snack Table Trick!

Here is a great way to allow choices for little ones, while still getting good nutrition! I use a Snack Table for my son. I make 4 or 5 snacks, and put them out so that he can choose what he wants to eat when it's snack-time. It is a great way for work-at-home Mama's to get some time for working and it gives Kiddo some independence! My son loves it, especially when I change up the choices everyday.
Healthy Snack Ideas:
organic yellow cherry tomatoes
organic strawberries
chips and salsa (for older kids) + add some hummus!
homemade fruit leather - make applesauce, then dehydrate in a dehydrator!
sourdough bread with butter
bison pepperoni (no additives, fillers or yucky chemicals)
organic turkey jerky (for older kids, no babies!)
goat cheese and crackers
homemade applesauce
steamed broccoli with vinaigrette dressing or a dill dip
organic cheddar cheese or mozzarella
mini pizzas with veggie toppings or pineapple and cheese
Make sure to choose things that can safely be left room temperature for an hour or two. Also, don't put lots of dry things on there, you'll end up with a constipated kid. We usually ensure that my son is regularly drinking water while using his snack table. A little timer works good, especially if your child can help turn it off or reset it.
Happy snacking!
